The parish council is please to report that we are now one step closer to getting the fountain water turned back on. This follows the parish council’s decision at its meeting on 30th September to pursue installation of a UV Filter.
This solution is supported by the majority of Hascombe residents who responded to the recent survey, and it will allow us to provide chemical-free water that is safe to drink.
Many parishes across the country have seen their drinking water fountains switched off permanently, and we are thankful for the support of residents and dedication of parish councillors to pursue this solution. We understand that this solution may not be supported by everyone, and whilst we respect all views, the parish council has decided that this is the best solution to allow the fountain to provide drinking water as originally intended, whilst meeting today’s stringent public health requirements.
At the meeting, some people requested to see the complete breakdown of the test results. These are not likely to mean much to most people, and are best read against the summary, a copy of which is also attached.
